Expenses for attending LPC 2023

This is a rough estimate as I have no idea how everything works given that I have never been out of my country.

Following are the estimated costs based on that I know I will need:

  1. Travel expense incl. round trip from Vadodara (BDQ) to Richmond (RIC): 1,54,000 INR (roughly 1877 USD)
  2. Accommodation: Holiday Inn Express RICHMOND - DOWNTOWN closest to the venue. Costs are on the same page and I don't mind if another Rocky member stays in the same room with me. The average cost is 220 USD per night. So, the stay from 10th Nov '23 to 16th Nov '23, it will cost roughly 1324 USD.
  3. Registration fees for LPC (in person): 600 USD
  4. US Visa fees: 185 USD

Above listed are the expenses that I can't afford. Other expenses like food, travel (cabs and other public transport), etc are what I can afford and I will pay for these.

Why am I attending LPC?

I'm interested in working on and improving the Linux kernel. At the moment, my expertise in the Linux kernel is close to null but I'm not stuck there. I'm learning and improving myself, its taking some time to get familiar :)
